Kitchen Hand / Housekeeper – Outback Queensland

Immediate Start – Live-In Only one position available – not suitable for couples.

This is an owner-operated, tight-knit country pub where the whole team lives and works together – think big personalities, genuine mateship, and a proper family vibe with only 10 or so staff on site.
This is high-octane, fast-paced kitchen action in a busy remote venue — no room for slow days. If you’ve thrived in a similar high-pressure pub or remote hotel kitchen before, we want to hear from you RIGHT NOW.
What you’ll be doing:
- Smashing out kitchen hand duties + dish pit at lightning speed
- Prepping, plating & running meals like a pro
- Assisting chefs with basic cooking & running the pass
- Jumping on catering orders when they roll in
- Helping with housekeeping when needed
- Occasional bottle-shop or bar shifts
- Whatever else keeps this buzzing venue flying
The money & lifestyle package (you’ll actually save):
- $33.38/hr Mon–Fri
- $40.05/hr Saturday
- $46.73/hr Sunday
- Only $100/week for your own pub-style room (upstairs in the hotel)
- 50% off meals – eat like a king without breaking the bank
- Share bathroom facilities – basic but clean & functional
- No kitchen or cooking facilities available (staff has access to microwave, air fryer, kettle though – no full cooking)
You MUST have:
- Proven experience in a fast-paced pub / remote hotel kitchen (non-negotiable)
- Current RSA
- Rock-solid work ethic & can-do attitude
- Preferably some remote/outback experience
We especially want:
- Someone looking to commit for at least 6 months
- Bonus points if you’ve handled the unique rhythm of outback hospitality before
Full Telstra coverage, sealed road access, Greyhound bus & nearby airport connections, basic town shops – everything you need without the crowds. This is proper outback adventure + proper pay + proper team spirit.
